A tree, the branchlets slightly pubescent, soon glabrous.
Leaves coriaceous, ovate to ovate-oblong, 8–15 cm long, acuminate at apex, acute to cuneate at base, glabrous or slightly pubescent on the veins beneath; petioles pubescent, about 5 mm long. Racemes axillary, solitary or clustered;
Flowers white, long -pedicellate; calyx 5-lobed, villose; petals 5, similar to the calyx-lobes; stamens about 25.
Fruits depressed-globose, red, about 1 cm across, glabrous or slightly pubescent.
